The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), bringing relief and excitement to thousands of students who participated in the nationwide examination.
Candidates who sat for the examination can now access their results through the official NECO result-checking portal.
The release allows students, parents, and schools to review academic performance and begin preparations for the next stage of their educational journey.
According to the examination body, candidates are required to obtain a NECO result-checking token before they can access their results online. The token can be purchased through approved channels, after which candidates can log in using their examination details.
The release of the results comes after weeks of anticipation among students who completed their final secondary school examinations.
Many candidates had expressed anxiety while waiting for the outcome, especially those hoping to gain admission into higher institutions.
Education stakeholders have continued to encourage students to carefully review their results and seek guidance on their next steps, whether applying for tertiary education, vocational training, or other career opportunities.
Parents and guardians have also been advised to support their children regardless of their results, emphasizing that examination outcomes are only one part of a student’s educational journey.
Candidates who encounter difficulties while checking their results are advised to confirm that their examination details are correctly entered and use the support channels provided by NECO.
The National Examinations Council conducts the SSCE annually for secondary school students across Nigeria and provides certification that is widely accepted by tertiary institutions and employers.
For candidates who performed well, the result marks the beginning of a new chapter as they prepare for admission processes and future academic goals.
Those who may not have achieved their expected grades are encouraged to explore available options, including resitting required subjects.
How to Check NECO Result: Visit the official NECO result-checking portal. Select the examination year and examination type. Enter your examination number and other required details. Input your result-checking token. Submit and view your result.
The release of the results marks another important milestone in Nigeria’s education calendar, as students move forward with plans for their academic and professional futures.
